What does it take to be the best?
At Houghton we have been proudly producing Western Australian wines for 175 years. We like to think that it is our exacting attention to flavour profile and overall balance in our wines that sets them apart.
The cornerstone of our winemaking practice was set by Jack Mann, winemaker at Houghton from 1922 to 1972. Jack was unrelenting in his search for flavour and character. His desire to make wine to exacting standards was legendary within the industry and is still core to our winemaking style today.
Our winemaking strength is also built upon through our selection of vineyards. So we source grapes from our own Swan Valley site, our Gingin site, Margaret River, Great Southern and the emerging Pemberton area.
